Mike Restuccia steps into Ripon mayors post

Michael Restuccia is Ripon’s new mayor.
In the rotating system, he was next in line to move into the post Tuesday otherwise known as Seat No. 1 of the Ripon City Council.
Restuccia accepted his designation as mayor during the Council Reorganization.
Ditto that for Leo Zuber, who moved up to vice mayor or Seat No. 2.
Jake Parks and Daniel de Graaf shifted over to Seat No. 3 and Seat No. 4, respectively.
Dean Uecker, who served as mayor for the past year, slid down to Seat No. 5.
Council approved the rotational mayoral selection ordinance several years ago in an effort to give each of the elected leaders a chance at the No. 1 seat.
Restuccia was elected to the council in 2014 after a hiatus of six years. he had been elected prior in 2000 and served until 2008.
During the stretch from 2008 and 2014 Restuccia remained active in the community, serving on the Ripon Consolidated Fire District board along with the San Joaquin County Retirement Association board, SJ Regional Transit board, the SJC Council of Governments and SJ Rail Commission.
A resident of Ripon for over 27 years, he and wife, Mona, have been married for 32 years.
