MJC hosting FFA Field Day March 31

MODESTO — It is competitive, it is educational, and it is an agricultural tradition at its best!  It is the 59th Annual Future Farmers of America Field Day hosted by the Modesto Junior College Agriculture & Environmental Sciences Department and Young Farmers.  The Field Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 31.

The FFA Field Day attracts over 1,500 high school students from 100 plus high schools across the State of California who compete in 17 agriculture-related contests including Ag Mechanics, Agronomy, Best Informed Greenhand, Dairy Cattle Judging, Farm Business Management, Farm Power & Machinery, Farm Record Book, Floriculture, Fruit Tree, Job Interview, Land Judging, Livestock Judging, Livestock Judging Novice, Milk Quality and Dairy Foods, Poultry Judging, Small Engines and Vegetable Crops.   The contests begin at 7:30 a.m. on both East and West Campuses of MJC and at some off-site venues as well.  An awards ceremony will be held at 4p.m. in the MJC Gymnasium.
