Swerving to miss an alleged drunk driver Thursday afternoon on Moffat Boulevard, a Ripon woman managed to survive with only a sideswipe total of her late model Lexus.
Manteca Police said the driver of a 2004 Chevy Tahoe continued westbound, turning right on Spreckels Avenue.
Teresa England, 48, of Stockton drove her car into a warehouse parking lot in the 900 block of Spreckels Avenue when it became disabled with extensive left front end and wheel damage, police said.
She was charged with driving under the influence and hit and run with injury following a field breathalyzer test, police said.
Josie Franzia, 77, said the woman crossed the center line and was coming directly at her when she swerved to avoid a head-on collision. The driver’s side of her car was damaged from front to rear and came to rest on the shoulder beneath the Highway 120 bridge.
