Movies in the Park may return this summer for its third season.
Fred White of DeCristo Productions wants to offer the movies free – the city charged a dollar last year – at Woodward Park on July 10 and 17. They also want to offer two dates at Northgate Park on July 24 and 31.
White proposes providing 25 percent of the concession recipts to the city as rental for the park venues. Municipal staff estimates that will generate $300 for the city to offset part-time staff needed to help stage the event. Most of the staffing though will be community volunteers.
The proposal is before the Manteca City Council on Tuesday during the 7 p.m. meeting at the Civic Center, 1001 W. Center St.
