STOCKTON – Tim Brown, one of the greatest collegiate and professional wide receivers to play the game, will be making a special appearance, Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 1p.m. to sign his book “The Making of a Man” at Barnes and Noble located at 4950 Pacific Ave. at the Weberstown Mall.

During his collegiate career at Notre Dame, Brown’s playmaking ability earned him the honor of being the first wide receiver to receive the Heisman Trophy award. In 1987 Brown was selected by the Los Angeles Raiders with the 6th overall pick of the 1988 NFL Draft.

Brown spent 16 years with the Raiders, during which he established himself as one of the League’s most prolific wide receivers. Brown’s play led him to be named to nine Pro Bowl teams and his 1,094 career receptions ranks 5th in NFL history. His fame and success with the Raider’s organization earned him the title, “Mr. Raider.”

Brown is National Chairman of Athletes and Entertainers for Kids and the  “9-1-1 for Kids” program which teachers children emergency preparedness. He has elected that a portion of the proceeds for this event will go towards his charity.

He currently works as a radio host on Sirius Radio’s NFL and College Football pregame and recaps. He is happily married and has four children. He lives in Dallas.
