Santa Claus will be on hand at this weekend at the annual Holiday Boutique in the Manteca-Ripon Pentecost Society Hall, 133 N. Grant Ave., Manteca.

Jolly Old St. Nick is scheduled today and Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m.

Teresa Rieb of the MRPS Hall is one of the organizers. She’s urging folks to stop by and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa prior to attending the 40th annual Christmas Parade, which begins at 5 p.m. today.

The admission-free Holiday Boutique is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. With it come great gift ideas for the holidays.

Take Origami Owl, for starters. Gerry Perry is the owner and operator of the booth featuring personalized lockets.

“It’s based on your story,” she said, pointing out to the assortment of miniature items, including sport items, personal causes, occupation, and birthstones, to name a few.

Melissa Lozoya and June Mohn also provide finishing touches such as stitching or embroidering names and monograms to items in their shared booth.

Lozoya runs “A Mother’s Love.”

Nearby is her mother, Debbie Hagedorn, who sells Gold Canyon candles.

“We love doing boutiques,” she said. “It’s good to see people here trying to get ideas for the holidays.

“We enjoy it too because we get to meet a lot of new people.”

Hagedorn was the longtime boys’ soccer coach at Manteca High. She’s kept busy with her side job (Gold Canyon candles) and grandchildren.

Rieb, meanwhile, was pleased with the turnout in vendors, with all 24 spots taken for this year’s event.

Snacks and dessert items, in addition, can be purchased at the Holiday Boutique.
