CENTRAL, La. (AP) — Three brothers were shot to death by a man who then killed himself in a rural area of Louisiana outside Baton Rouge early Sunday, authorities said.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said the men were found dead in a driveway after an argument broke out at about 12:30 a.m. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks told the Advocate that the men were watching football and listening to music at a neighbor’s house when they got into an argument over the music.

The suspected shooter was identified as Rodney Chemin, 60, and the three brothers as Joseph Allen, 57; Perry Allen, 55 and Mark Allen, 51. The four men were found dead outside Chemin’s house.

East Baton Rouge authorities did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

The newspaper reported that the men had gathered to watch a Louisiana State University football game on Saturday and then did a karaoke sing-a-long.

The shooting took place on a private rural road near Central, a town outside Baton Rouge, that winds through family property owned by Chemin and his extended family members.

The party was held at the home of Dwayne Crumholt, who is Chemin’s cousin and a close friend, according to Jessica Crumholt, Dwayne Crumholt’s daughter, and her half-sister, Adrienne Crumholt.

Dwayne Crumholt and Chemin’s houses are near each other.

The sisters said the argument apparently began over music and turned into a physical fight at the house.

Chemin then went home after the fight sometime after midnight Sunday, Hicks said, and the three brothers apparently followed him to his house. About 10 minutes later, the sisters said they heard several shots.

Gregory Allen, one of the brothers of the three victims, said his three siblings were all friends with Dwayne Crumholt, but Joe Allen was particularly close to him. He said the trio visited Crumholt at his house nearly every weekend.
