MENLO PARK . (AP) — An elderly driver was struck in the neck and killed by a large metal nut as he drove on a busy Northern California highway.
Highway patrol officer Art Montiel told KTVU that the 82-year-old driver was struck by the item when it smashed through his windshield about 1 p.m. Friday.
The driver then collided with the center divider and eventually came to a stop.
