Manteca High grad returns as citys newest podiatrist

The Manteca medical community has a new homegrown podiatrist — Dr. Jack A. Harvey, DPM.

Harvey is a graduate of Manteca High School.

where he enjoyed his own family life and high school sports – with seven siblings in his family.

At Manteca High he participated football, basketball and swimming and later went on a mission for his church to South Carolina where he learned Spanish during that tenure. Harvey said his mission changed his life for the better by experiencing so much rejection that he now feels he can treat anyone.

Harvey just completed a three year residency within the Kaiser Hospital system involving everything in foot care from trauma and diabetic care to treating infections that might develop and need to be controlled.

In the Kaiser system out of Vallejo, he rotated through four different hospitals.

He also attended California School of Podiatric Medicine learning the physiology of the podiatric medicine specialty for another four years.

His wife Anupa will be at his side taking care of the bookkeeping end of his new office operation.  The couple has three children at home. Harvey has three sisters and four brothers.

“Family is what I love,” he quipped, saying he looks forward to treating children as well as the adults to come to him.

During his residency he received valuable experience and an education in treating club feet in children, he said.

Being asked what hobbies his wife enjoys, he chuckled and said “shopping for shoes and dabbling in photography.”

The couple’s children are aged 7, 4, and 2.  The seven-year-old is entering third grade in the fall.  They have made their home in Ripon.
