Manteca CAPS dinner theatre set for March 27“Sleepless in California” is the name of this year’s production for the mystery dinner theatre benefit for the Manteca CAPS organization that services mentally challenged adults.
The dinner is set for Saturday, March 27, at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.
Tickets are $30 apiece. No-host cocktails start at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. that includes a live performance.
There are also door prizes and a raffle.
It is a slumber party theme this year. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately.

Ripon concert March 12 helps Relay for LifeRIPON – Ripon Christian School students are holding a benefit concert for this year’s Ripon Relay For Life on Friday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m., at the school.
The headlining band is called “I Am Empire”. This show will be their first stop on a national tour promoting their current hit single called “The Elevator.” Here is a link to their website if you would like some more information about the band: http://www.myspace.com/iamempire
Advance ticket donations are $7 each with all of the proceeds going directly to Ripon Relay for Life. Tickets at the door will be $10. As an extra bonus, anyone who is on a 2010 Relay for Life team is eligible for one free ticket to the concert, due to the fact that they are already contributing to the cause.
Yamaha is a major sponsor. They have volunteered their time and equipment to having a great sound system at this event.
MRPS Hall fish dinner Feb. 17The MRPS Hall is staging a fish dinner at the hall, 133 N. Grant St., on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
Adult tickets are $12.50 while children tickets (12 and under) are $6. Dinner includes fish, potatoes, green beans, salad, bread and dessert. Takeout is available. For tickets call either 823-6560 or 823-3963 or else Fagundes Meats 239-4184.
RC Close-Up sells tri-tip sandwichesRIPON - The Ripon Christian Close-Up Club will be selling tri-tip sandwich meals in the high school gymnasium parking lot during the Almond Blossom Festival, Saturday, Feb, 27. The cost is $8 and includes a tri-tip sandwich, potato salad and chips. Soda and water will also be available for sale. Sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the same drive-thru manner as the recent Texas Roadhouse dinner.
Tickets will be sold ahead of time by Close Up members and available for purchase in the high school office. Meal tickets will also be available at the drive-thru on the day of the event.
Tulips grown by John Bos will also be available at the drive-thru that day. The cost is $10. No tickets will be sold ahead of time for these, just pick them up when you get your meal.
