‘50s theme dinner dance at SHS tonight
The Sierra High School band is having a ‘50s theme dinner dance this evening from 5 to 10 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

The cost is $15. There will be live entertainment from various local bands, staff and alumni. Dinner is a choice of hamburger, hotdog, cheese pizza and various salads. Dinner includes a soda and a root beer float.

There are still about 100 tickets available at the door.

Manteca artists reception Sunday
The Manteca Mayor’s Committee on the Arts will honor local artists at their annual awards event this Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.

The following people have been nominated for various awards:

• Artist of the year: Dan Voller and Rick Hammarstrom

• Special recognition award: Jeannette Farley

• Arts recognition award: Jean Ramey and Nancy Myatt

• Student art recognition awards: Eric Christensen, Kristen Kunkle, Dristal Valencia and Brandon Valite

Refreshments will be served to those who are viewing the various tables prepared by the local artists groups.

There will be a special “Green Ware” table showing how art can be produced from items that have been thrown away. See the wonderful art that Jan Bradley has created from an empty Coca Cola can and other discarded items.

Manteca High rib dinner, dance set
The Manteca High Athletic Boosters annual rib dinner dance takes place on Saturday, March 13, at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St.

You must be 21 years old to attend.

Tickets are $30. They are available at the Manteca High main office.

Spaghetti dinner at MHS March 24
The Jeff Gonsalez Memorial Scholarship Spaghetti Dinner is set for Wednesday, March 24, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Manteca High cafeteria.

The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

Takeout meals are available.

FESM marinated crab dinner March 20
The FESM marinated crab dinner takes place Saturday, March 20, at the MRPS Hall.

Dinner includes marinated cold crab, salad, pasta, bread and butter as well as ice cream.

No-host cocktails are at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Dancing to Progesso takes place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Tickets are $40 for adults while children 6 to 12 years old are $20.
