Olsen speaks Thursday at Manteca gathering

Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, is speaking this Thursday at a meeting of the Manteca Patriots. 

After some prepared remarks on her work and state issues Olsen will take questions from the audience. The Manteca Patriots meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Chez Shari at the Manteca Golf Course, 305 N. Union Road. The event is open to the public.

Kristin Olsen was first elected to the California State Assembly in November 2010. She represents Stanislaus County as well as Manteca, Ripon, and Escalon

Olsen was named Chief Republican Whip in her first term. She serves as vice chair of both the Assembly Agriculture and Education committees. Olsen also serves on the Higher Education and Accountability and Administrative Review Committees. She was named Legislator of the Year in 2012 by the Regional Council of Rural Counties.

Born, raised, and now raising her own family in Modesto, Olsen served on the Modesto City Council from 2005 to 2009, where she stood up for fiscal responsibility, public safety, and economic development.

Olsen and her husband, Rod, live in Modesto with their three children.
