Open enrollment underway for California Connections Academy

California Connections Academy @ Ripon is launching an open enrollment period for the 2017-18 school year.
This tuition-free virtual public school currently services kindergarten- through- 12th- grade students living in Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties.
During the open enrollment period, California Connections Academy @ Ripon will host digital and in-person information sessions for those interested (click on to www.california.connectionsacademy.com).
The school, which opened in 2012, is authorized under state law by the Ripon Unified School District.
Enrollment has grown each year, increasing to 23 percent, from September 2015 to September 2016. Included are home schooled students who are looking for teacher support, competitive athletes with strict training schedule, and youngsters seeking expanded course offerings.
“With more students and families continuing to turn to online education as a learning solution, we are dedicated to providing every student with the tools and guidance they need to achieve academic success,” said Amy Hunt, who is the school site administrator at California Connections Academy @ Ripon.
She added: “We recommend that any families considering online school attend one of our information sessions to learn more about our approach to individualized education.”
Through advanced technology tools and a rigorous curriculum, teachers work closely with student to develop an individualized learning plan.
Courses include honors and AP classes, and extensive electives such as foreign languages, digital technology and career technical courses.
