MODESTO — The Modesto Junior College Foundation is hosting the annual Celebrate MJC Wine, Beer and Gourmet Food Tasting on Saturday, April 26, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Gymnasium on East Campus. The event will feature regional wines for sampling accompanied by hors d’oeuvres, music and a silent auction. The event will benefit the 21 sports in MJC’s Athletic Program.

Participating restaurants include A Baker’s Place, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, Chevys Fresh Mex, Cheesecake Kitchen, Concetta, El Marisquero Authentic Mexican Food, Firkin & Fox Pub and Restaurant, Frost Bakery, Hero’s Sports Lounge & Pizza, Hilmar Cheese Company, O’Brien’s Market, P. Wexford’s Pub, Papa John’s Pizza, Rivets American Grill, Starbucks, Tap Room Pub & Grub, Tasty Thai, Texas Roadhouse and The Boardroom.

The wine tasting will include premium varietals from Barefoot Cellars, Bronco Winery, Delicato Family Vineyards, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Hatcher Winery, Silkwood Wines, Southern Wine & Spirits, The Naked Grape and Woodbridge Winery.

Beer sampling will be provided by Cencal Beverage Company, Delta Sierra Beverage, and Dust Bowl Brewing.

Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased by calling the MJC Athletics Department at 575.6270 or 575.6269, online at mjc.tix.com or purchased at the door. Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age to attend the event.

Local artist Patty Davis will entertain by playing acoustic guitar and singing. Auction items will include premium wines, gift certificates, gift baskets, sports memorabilia and more.
