Felici Piano Trio is Kindred Arts 2nd season offering on Sunday

The second offering in the 2013-2014 27th anniversary concert season of the Manteca Kindred Arts Association, Inc. is coming up Sunday, Nov. 10, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Manteca.

The Felici Piano Trio, the musical home of Belgian pianist, Steven Vanhauwaert, German violinist Rebecca Hang, and American cellist Brian Schuldt, will be performing starting at 3 p.m . The venue is the sanctuary of St. Paul’s where all Kindred Arts performances are held.

The Felici Piano Trio musicians are award-winning music artists. They have won prizes in the prestigious Los Angeles Liszt, Yellow Springs, and Osaka music competitions. They are performing artists with international caliber, having performed more than 350 concerts in Europe, South America and the United States.

The group has also performed concerts in Germany, appeared on television, and done recording for German Southwest Radio, according to the Kindred Arts profile. They are also a California Arts Council “Touring Roster” ensemble.

Felici has four CDs available: Chamber Music of Women Composers, Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A-minor, Beethoven’s Ghost Trio, Ravel’s Trio, and Saint-Saens Piano Trio, Op.18.

The rest of the 27th anniversary concert season will feature the Golden Bough which is back by popular demand with its “Christmas in a Celtic Land” after its sold-out appearance here last year – Saturday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. – and Dr. Kent Cook who is professor of piano and head of the keyboard department at Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois – Feb. 16 at 3 p.m.

The Sacramento Baroque Soloists opened the current season with a performance on Oct. 27.

Individual admission tickets which will be available at the door the day of the concert are $15 each for adults, $5 each for anyone under 18 years of age.

Admission is also by season tickets which are based on type membership: $45 each for adults; $55 for one adult plus family (under 18), $100 for two adults plus family (under 18).
