Manteca Museum talk Nov. 14 focusing on American Legion

The Manteca Historical Society and Museum is hosting guest speakers Rocky Wilson, and Harold Hodges, on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. who will share  the 97-year history of the American Legion and Manteca’s Post 249 founded in 1920. 

They will talk about some of the changes the American Legion has accomplished for Veterans and for ‘God and Country”, such as Veteran’s rehabilitation and care, education, and benefits.

The evening will be hosted by Museum board member, John Borders, who is a former Post 249 Commander, and honorary life member.  He has also held numerous other state and national American Legion positions throughout his career.

The meeting will begin at 7p.m., and refreshments will be served after the presentation. 

Program nights are free to all Historical Society members and other interested guests.
