Manteca Kindred Arts marks 25th season

Manteca Kindred Arts Concert Association’s silver anniversary continues this month with pianist Tien Hsieh.

The internationally renowned pianist Tien Hsieh is a highly sought-after performer throughout Europe, Asia and North America who made her New York debut at the Carnegie Hall in 1996. She will perform on Sunday, Nov. 20. She has performed before in the Manteca Kindred Arts series and was invited back as one of the most well received programs the concert group has ever staged.

“We are bringing back these three outstanding performers because they were so popular and they were very good,” said Judy Byer, the president of the Kindred Arts for the last six years.

The Tilden Trio - also one of the encore performers arranged for the silver anniversary season - staged their concert this past Sunday. The other encore performance will consist of the Stanford Woodwind Quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French horn). They are all professors at Stanford University. last and performed in the 2008-09 season in Manteca. The quintet will appear on March 18, 2012.

Rounding out the concert season’s five performances are Michelle You (violin and piano) whose performance date is Feb. 26, 2012, and the Stockton Portsmen Chorus which will be Kindred Arts’ Christmas holiday offering on Dec. 18, 2011.

All 25th anniversary concerts will be held on Sundays starting at 3 p.m. at St.Paul’s United Methodist Church, 910 East North Street in Manteca, corner of Powers Avenue.

Admission to the concerts is by season tickets or ticket sales at the door the day of the concerts. Season tickets are $45 for each adult; $55 for one adult plus family (under 18); and $100 for two adults plus family (under 18). Each season ticket includes one Ripon Arts League concert.

The Manteca Kindred Arts Association, Inc. is a 501-C-3 federal and state non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible “to the extent allowed by law.” Contributors will be recognized in concert programs, and will receive a receipt from Kindred Arts. Those who support the organization at the “underwriting level” will be recognized in the season brochure as well as in the concert programs.
