The Manteca Police Department is seeking the public’s help in solving a July 4 shooting death that occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on Independence Day in the 2100 block of West Yosemite Avenue.

Responding to a 911 call regarding a gunshot victim at that location, officers found 15-year-old Antonio Dylan Brown inside a residence. Brown had suffered a gunshot to his head. Officers immediately began life saving measures until they were relieved by Manteca Fire and ambulance personnel.  The teen could not be revived and died at the scene, according to Sgt. The victim was at the residence visiting friends when an unknown subject fired a shot into the residence striking the victim, a student at East Union High School.
