A 37-year-old Modesto man drew the attention of Ripon residents who spotted him allegedly smoking pot in front of two elementary schools near downtown on Wednesday.
Dylan Dean Caulfield was allegedly seen in front of both Ripon Christian Elementary School and Ripon Elementary some four blocks apart as a citizen called Ripon Police to report the man loitering around the two campuses.
Officers Trevor McGinnis and Leroy Sanchez caught up with Caulfield sitting on a bench in the city’s downtown at the corner of Walnut and Main streets.  He was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia including a crack pipe, officers said. 
Caulfield was arrested and transported to the Ripon Police Department where he was later released on a misdemeanor citation.
