Manteca Police arrested a 26-year-old male who allegedly made criminal threats and evaded police.
Police responded Sunday at 9:44 a.m. to the 1900 block of Valenzuela Court on a report of a male subject armed with a gun being involved in some sort of disturbance.
The subject left the residence prior to officers’ arrival, but was calling the residence saying he was still in the area and had a gun.  One of the responding officers located a Honda matching the suspect vehicle description in the area and attempted to catch up to it.  The driver appeared to be taking evasive maneuvers and ran red lights.  The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Honda, but the driver failed to stop and continued onto southbound Highway 99.   A short time later the pursuit was terminated because officers lost sight of the vehicle.
Within a few minutes, an officer located the Honda parked on Mission Ridge Drive and saw a white Charger pull away from it quickly as he approached.  The officer conducted a traffic stop on the Charger in the 800 block of Mission Ridge Drive.  A passenger in the rear seat was identified as the driver in the pursuit and the same subject who had been at the residence on Valenzuela Court.  No firearm was located; however a spent .45 round was found in the Honda.  The Honda had three flat tires and what appeared to be fresh damage to the left front of the vehicle.  There were no reports of a hit and run collision.  The suspect later stated he hit the median while making the left turn from South Main to Mission Ridge.
The investigation revealed the suspect has been having an intimate relationship with a female at the residence.  This female is one of the registered owners of the Honda.  She was initially reluctant to provide information and appeared fearful of the suspect.  She reported a domestic violence incident that occurred Saturday in Castro Valley.  During that incident, the suspect took the keys to the Honda forcibly from her possession.  This information was forwarded to Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.  Based on the investigation, the suspect — Jorge Galvan III from Union City — was charged with felony evading and criminal threats.
