RIPON - The Ripon Oratorio Society will be celebrating the Christmas season with the 64th presentation of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 4th & Orange Streets in Ripon.
Messiah rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, 22, and 29, at 3 p.m. at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. Singers are needed and welcomed. Bring your Messiah Score, F. Schirmer edition with you. Singers are required to contribute a membership fee of $5. Child care will be available during the performance on Dec. 6. An offering will be taken.
The director is Bob De Ruiter, Ripon; the organist David Douma, San Francisco; pianist Barbara Viss, Ripon; soprano soloist Carla Connors, Florida; alto soloist Renne Froedge, Modesto; tenor soloist Joe Rykert, Modesto; bass soloist David Hess, San Francisco; and trumpeter Ernie Bucio, Modesto.
