Ripon board considers Colony Oak upgrade contract

The time is nearing for construction to begin at Weston School.

At Monday’s meeting, the Ripon Unified school board will go over the “fire and life safety and structural review” with the Division of State Architect.

Trustees, at the same time, are scheduled to enter into an agreement with general contractor C.T. Brayton for the Colony Oak School modernization.

Both Weston and Colony Oak are part of the voter-approved Measure G bonds.

Construction for Weston is scheduled to begin at the conclusion of the current school year.

The school board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The agenda also includes:

•A public hearing on RUSD levying and collecting of school facilities fees.

•Don Gatti giving an update on the Measure G projects.

•The board approving the 2014-15 school calendar.

•Retirement announcements and the latest attendance summary.

The board conducted a retreat Saturday on Transitional kindergarten could be coming to Ripon Unified.

The two-year kindergarten program that’s being offered is designed to develop the academic, social, and emotional skills in such youngsters.
