Ripon Church of Christ plans new campus

Ripon Church of Christ’s plan for a new campus is before the San Joaquin County Planning Commission on Thursday.
The 12,000-square-foot building is part of a 3.09 acre parcel that borders the Ripon city limits on the north side of West Ripon Road some 150 feet west of Jack Tone Road.
The building will have a maximum capacity of 350. It will serve as a prayer hall and will include offices, Sunday school classrooms, and a kitchen for church events. An existing 1,780-square-foot residence will be retained for a minister’s residence.
The 116-space parking lot will have two entrances. One will be to the east of the residence with a protected right turn de-acceleration lane into the property and a right turn only going out.
The second will be to the west of the home with an entrance lane and two lanes leaving the lot with one going right and the other turning left.
The church will be required to pay for modifications to the Jack Tone Road/West Ripon Road/Main Street traffic signal. Changes will allow for protected left turn movements.
There will be a storm retention basin on site that will double as a playing field.
The church will have its own septic system.
The San Joaquin County Planning Commission will review the project when they meet Thursday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the auditorium at the San Joaquin County Department of Public Health Services, 1601 East Hazelton Avenue in Stockton.
