RIPON – The Ripon City Council tonight is scheduled to discuss a plan for a public park and ride lot on Jack Tone Road.

The proposed 75-space lot would be located south of the Flying J property that’s currently owned by the California Department of Transportation or Caltrans as surplus property.

At tonight’s meeting, elected officials could provide the green light to direct staff to proceed with the purchase of the less-than- half-acre lot belonging to Caltrans at about $500.

Resources could allow the city to pay for the Park and Ride project in full thanks in part to Measure K and the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement program.

This item and others will take place at the 7 p.m. open session at Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Other agenda items include:

• Council will revisit the non-profit agency eligibility application for the purpose of allowing non-profit agencies living within city limits to rent facilities at reduced rate.

• Elected officials will then take into consideration the waiver of fee requests by the Ripon Rotary Club and Marissa’s Closet asking for free use of the Community Center for their upcoming fundraising events.

• Council will also discuss relocating Farmers Market to the Town Square Shopping Center.
