RIPON – An area once a part of the Redevelopment Agency will be discussed at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

At the 7 p.m. open session at the Ripon City Hall Council Chambers, elected leaders will revisit the vacant property at Second Street and Stockton Avenue.

It was once being considered for a multiple story building with retail on the ground floor and residential above. The state pulling the plug on redevelopment agencies essentially rendered the project dead.

Council members could provide direction to staff regarding potentially rezoning the corner lot, in particular, their desire for this property.

During the past year, the city has turned to an oversight board and successor agency in place of the disbanded RDA to handle the few remaining projects and bond payments.

In other agenda items:

• Council members will look to approve the 2012 Local Agency Biennial Notice confirming the city’s conflict of interest code while authorizing administrators to execute the document.

• They’ll take on the second reading of three amendments involving the planning commission and the director of planning, including lot-line adjustments and voluntary mergers, reviewing voluntary mergers if a hearing is required, and the part pertaining to the final approval of lot-line adjustments.

City Hall is located at 259 N. Wilma St.
