Colony Oak School is in full production for “Vegas in Ripon.”

The gaming event is being staged by the Parent Faculty Club and is one of their biggest fundraisers. This year the money will be used for updated classroom technology.

This evening is for adults only and will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Ripon Community Center. The fun starts at 6 p.m. with a no host cocktail hour and horse racing. Gaming tables open at 7 p.m. Gaming tables include Black Jack, Roulette, 3 Card Poker and Craps. Tickets are on sale for $30 per person. It includes an appetizer buffet, dessert bar, 1 drink ticket (no host bar), and $20 in Cougar Cash to get your gaming started. There is also a limited seating Poker Tournament with a pre-sale price of $25 and if seating is available will cost $40 at the door. To purchase a ticket call Shelly Vieira at (209) 815-2698.

There are many raffle prizes (must be present to win), a photo booth and a silent auction as well as a live auction. The live auction is of Classroom Baskets. Each class makes up a themed basket and it is a highlight of the evening. This year Ms. Huff’s Kindergarten class basket is a”Pete The Cat” quilt handmade by the students and teacher. The kindergarteners each have their own square on the quilt. They got to choose their own fabric, choose the placement of their cat’s head and eyes, draw on the whiskers and sign their name. This handmade quilt is one of a kind and is sure to raise a lot of money for Colony Oak School.
