A personalized brick fundraiser has generated $23,000 in donations to help build an all-weather track at the Ripon High School Stadium.

Wednesday’s deadline for donations has been extended until Friday, June 28, according to Stephanie Hobbs who has spearheaded the effort at $100 per brick.  She said her phone has been ringing non-stop with donors wanting to purchase more of the bricks and have their three-line messages inscribed.

Hobbs said Thursday she has been overwhelmed by the response from the Ripon community hoping to reach her target of 300 bricks to be installed from the ticket booth to the home bleachers.  She added that the fundraiser is an open ended event that can be reopened in the future as there is always more room for memorial bricks in support of the stadium.

The 4 by 8 inch bricks will be installed prior to the first home football game, she added.  They will have room for three lines of type, 18 characters per line.

To order online go to www.rcafsite.com  and then on to pay online using PayPal. Select the “make a donation” tab at the top.  Print out a print order form at the top of the screen.  Print out a brick order form and either mail it in or take to the Ripon Chamber of Commerce office with a check made payable to the Ripon Community Athletic Foundation.  The chamber of commerce office also has forms available.

Hobbs said her next challenge is to find someone willing to install the bricks in the stadium effort.
