Draa may serve as interim leader for Ripon Unified

Ripon Unified could turn to William Draa to help out with the top administration post on an interim basis.

He’s the former superintendent at the Banta school district.

Trustees, at Monday’s special school board meeting, are scheduled to offer Draa as the temporarily fill-in for Louise Johnson, who recently accepted the superintendent of schools position at the Nevada Union High School District.

The hope is for the Manteca resident to come aboard and help the district team during this transition.

This item and others will take place in the district office conference room, 304 N. Acacia St., beginning at 5 p.m. with several closed session matters.

Also included are:

• The board looking at the updates on the district’s Master Facility Plan.

• Trustees considering a Lake Tahoe home for a Future Farmers of America summer retreat site for officers. Students Krista Tyhurst, Ty Johns, Steven Daggett, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Kent Norman and Tyler Hendon, under the supervision of chaperones, will be among those taking part in the team-building exercises.
