Carla Lien left her job at a fast food restaurant in Ripon after graduation from Ripon Christian High School to become a hostess for the new owners of the Barnwood Restaurant adjacent to the northbound Highway 99 on ramp on East Main Street.

Excited about her new job and the people she is working with, it is going to be a short stay for her as she will be off to Biola College in Southern California at the end of August.

“It’s easy to work here with this great team.  We talk, we get along, work together and help each other,” she said. “I feel very fortunate to have this job,” she said.

A graduate of Ripon Christian School, she said she hopes to see a long line of her former teachers from kindergarten through high school coming through the doors with their families for lunch or dinner.

At Ripon Christian she has been involved in music with her guitar along with sports.  She participated in everything from volleyball and basketball to golf and tennis, she said.   Her mother is a preschool teacher at Manteca Christian School and serves as a volunteer with the Modesto Pregnancy Center as a teacher.
