The City of Ripon is gearing up for next month’s National Night Out.
On Aug. 6, Tuesday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Community Center, folks are expected to gather once again for this annual event sponsored by the City and the Ripon Ministerial Association.
Police Chief Ed Ormonde said that National Night Out is a free event featuring hot dogs and bottled water at no charge along with a watermelon-eating contest and various games and activities.
A car show is part of the event coupled with emergency vehicles, karaoke, water slides, face painting, Bingo, crafts and a kids’ ID booth.
City leaders are also looking forward to National Night Out. On Tuesday. They opted to cancel their Aug. 6 meeting.
