A tour of the Ripon Police Department and introduction of staff members is on tap for Tuesday from noon until 6 p.m., according to First Sgt. Steve Merchant.

Officers and volunteers are scheduled to be on hand to greet the members of the public and answer their questions.  Of special interest is the dispatch center with its numerous dispatcher consoles and the many television screens that continually monitor the safety of the community.

Staff will also display vehicles and specialty equipment.  Children will be given stick-on badges and trading picture cards of all the officers.
