A 28-year-old Ripon woman, Chandra Ann Ashlock, was nabbed by a patrolman some 60 seconds after a dispatcher radio dispatcher put out the description of an alleged burglary suspect who had taken lingerie valued at $200 from the All About the Girls bra shop in the downtown business community.

The theft took place shortly before noon on Friday when patrolman Kyle Gomes located the suspect with the woman reportedly admitting to the theft.

First Sergeant Steve Merchant said merchandise matching the stolen items was found in the suspect’s possession as was additional property that had been stolen earlier from Devine Décor some two blocks away.

Merchant said that the “cooperative relationships” that exist between the local business community and the Ripon Police Department were the keys to the swift resolution of the two cases.

Ashlock was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on burglary charges, Merchant said.
