A change in the method on electing school board members in Ripon Unified appeared to get the OK on Tuesday.

Voters came out in support of Measure H, with 1,700 or 54.3 percent voting ‘yes’ to edge out the 1,426 (45.6 percent) ‘no’ votes, according to the recent numbers posted by San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office.

Based on that, folks in Ripon Unified would be counted on to vote only on the candidate representing their Trustee Area come next election. They’ve been accustomed to block-voting candidates in to office over the years.
