Three bouncers from a Lake Tahoe bar have been indicted on manslaughter charges stemming from the beating death of a Ripon man in 2012.

Rodolfo Hernandez, 44, Sean Canilao, 48, and Ruben Lizzaragga were all indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter last week in the death of Derek “Zippy” Peneranda. The Ripon man was celebrating his 30th anniversary at Mo’s Bar in May of 2012.

Peneranda reportedly got into a fight at the bar and ended up at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe with major injuries. He succumbed to them in October.

The El Dorado County District Attorney took up the case, and an independent grand jury issued a sealed indictment earlier  last week.
