Blake Vizcarra is the first sophomore to serve as student representative to the Ripon Unified school board.

That’s according to Ripon High Principal Lance Morrow, whose son, Blake Morrow, served in that role during the past year.

“I know we’ve had two seniors and couple of juniors as student board members,” he said.

Vizcarra took his seat alongside the board of trustees after being administered the oath of office by interim Superintendent Bill Draa.

In his role, he will have a chance to reflect the student sentiment regarding some of the issues to the school board.

Vizcarra, as a freshman, was selected by the RHS student body at the elections held during the past spring.

His duties will include attending the monthly board meetings and reporting back to ASB.
