RIPON - A zero tolerance police saturation patrol to take drunk drivers off Ripon streets is set for this weekend.
“If you drive drunk, Ripon PD is looking for you,” said Sgt. Richard Kalebjian of the Saturday night assignment. “If you are over the limit, you will be arrested.”
Kalebjian said, “Over the course of the past year DUI collisions have claimed lives and resulted in countless wrecks injuring several of our friends and neighbors.” He added that since 2005 the alcohol-related fatalities have been dropping due to proactive events such as DUI check points and saturation patrols.
The Saturday night DUI saturation patrol will deploy officers within the city limits of Ripon beginning at about 7 p.m., Kalebjian said.
