Ripon High School resource officer Trevor McGinnis is patrolling the campus on a scooter thanks to the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris.

The Ripon couple donated two electric scooters and accessories valued at $3,000 to the Ripon Police Department.

The scooters will be assigned to officers and volunteers for special event patrols including the Almond Blossom Festival, the Fourth of July Celebration, Main Street Day, Taste of Ripon, and other community events.

One scooter will be used  by Volunteers in  Police Services.

“These electric scooters will be very helpful to both the volunteers and the officers,” said VIPS President  Rich Searcy. “We appreciate this donation.”
