The Ripon Unified school board will meet this morning inside the Conference Room of the district office for a special session.
Trustees will receive an update on the Ripon High stadium – or Stouffer Field – including plans on the main entrance and restrooms.
They’ll also begin the bidding process on the project for the bleachers and press box replacement at the stadium, posting an invitation to bid public notice.
The board, upon receiving the bids – the cutoff is no later than 2 p.m. on Nov. 14, according to the “Notice Inviting Bids” document – will publicly be open and read aloud at 2:30 p.m. that same day in the RUSD Conference Room.
According to the Ripon Community Athletic Foundation, the cost for the bleachers and press box upgrades along with new restrooms that meet construction code and ADA requirements in the 70+ year old stadium is $890,000.
The local grassroots non-profit group led by Stephanie and Vince Hobbs also submitted this portion of the RHS Stadium Project to the San Joaquin One Voice for the past few years.
The special meeting will open with a closed session hearing at 11:40 a.m.
Open session is scheduled at 11:50.
The district office is located at 304 N. Acacia Ave.
