The Ripon City Council will hear a report on the recently implemented Large Item Pick-up Program at tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
This is the trash pickup program that replaced the curbside Spring Clean-up program.
Director of Public Works Ted Johnston will provide a report on the new program that kicked off in April – going through the end of September – and relies on participation of residents.
Included will be 488 residents calling and his crew collecting 138,780 pounds of unwanted items. Compare that to 360,000 pounds of material collected during last year’s Spring Clean-up Program, which, incidentally, was scrapped after causing a variety of problems including sanitary issues.

uCouncil members are scheduled to OK the acquisition of surplus property from the City of Lodi, in turn, authorizing Mayor Dean Uecker to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement.
uThey’ll also conduct a public hearing on unmet transit needs involving the San Joaquin Council of Governments’ Melody Lin along with a pair of Development Agreements with two Meadowbrook subdivisions of the North Pointe Specific Plan.
uElected leaders will consider approving an amendment to the 2015 lease of the Mistlin Sports Park involving TPR Baseball.
