Ripon starting yard waste pickup Sunday

The City of Ripon will soon be making the rounds to pick up the fall yard waste and brush.
It’s part of the services provided by the Department of Public Works, beginning Sunday, Oct. 15, through Feb. 1.
There’s no need to contact City Hall for the pick-up of discarded yard trimmings and leaves.
Public Works will be checking neighborhoods and collecting the yard waste each week with no set route.
“So if the yard trimmings are not picked up one week, they will get to it the next week,” said Public Works of the crew.
In order to make their job easier, they recommended the following:
uLoose yard trimmings and leaves are to be placed on the street just outside the gutter, leaving the gutter clear for water runoff.
uNo solid waste of any kind should be deposited among the pruned branches and leaves.
uThere are no stumps allowed or branches no more than four feet long and six inches in diameter.
uBranches and trimmings should not be placed in bags or tied down.
