RIPON — Ripon VFW is hosting its sixth annual Luau Fund Raiser for our troops on Saturday, July 23, from 2 to 11 p.m. at 12455 W. Ripon Road.

There will be dinner, dancing and dunk tank. Be sure to be there from 2 to 7 p.m. to get your chance to dunk some of the “greats” in our community such as Ripon Mayor Red Nutt, Ripon City Councilman Dean Uecker, Officer Steven Meece, and Bruce Hopper (owner of the Islander) and anyone else who would like to join in the adventure. All proceeds from the dunk tank go directly to purchasing and shipping packages to our troops who are serving our country.

Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. for a $10 donation. A raffle will follow with the top prizes being a three-day, two-night vacation at the Atlantis in Reno as well as a three-day, two-night stay at the Sands Hotel in Reno. More than $1,000 worth of prizes will be awarded. The next shipment to our troops will be on Monday, July 25, at 10 a.m. The VFW is inviting anyone that has a loved one serving, to stop by and pack up a box and we will ship it to them.
