Some of the artists from Scattered Comics are back.

On Saturday, they’ll be at Fantastic Collectibles at 162 W. Center St. in Manteca.

Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for signing or questions are Krysten Reis (A Curious Journey), Jason Dube (Panda Days), Fredrick Allison Jr. (Hybrid Earth), Shane Will (Caliber), and Ryan Taylor (Anonymouse).

Taylor is from Manteca.

He was here recently – during the Pumpkin Fair – to sign copies of his Anonymouse comic books.

Taylor has been artist for years but got into writing aspect of it not too long ago. His influences include Frank Miller of the “Batman: Dark Knight Returns” fame, and the late Science Fiction author Richard Matheson.

His big break came via a chance meeting with Dube, publisher of Scattered Comics, at Twisted Terror-Con in Sacramento.

In addition, Taylor is a published poet and writer, and teaches art in Stockton.

Besides Panda Days, Dube has published titles such as Caffeine Poisoned, Waiting for Something to Happen, and Shadow Hunters. He recently began putting out monthly webcomics while freelancing as an artist, colorist, typesetter and layouts for several independent companies.

Reis is a recent graduate from the Art Institute of Sacramento.

Allison, who is a notable great artist, was influenced by cartoons and Nintendo game cover art before going into anime and comics.

For Will, his first love was comics. But worked in film and television, and has been a writer for most of his life. He returned to comics, creating a universe of superheroes such as Caliber and Tomorrow.

“We will have a couple of new people here as well,” said Fantastic Collectibles owner Richard Simas Sr.
