Scouting for food taking place in Manteca Nov. 21

Scouting for food is a national canned food drive put on by the Boy Scouts of America.

Canned food is collected by Scouts and given to local food banks.

This is one of the areas that Scouting helps to provide community service. On Saturday, Nov. 21, local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be collecting canned food in your neighborhood. During the week we request that you save up whatever canned food (no perishables please) that you can spare to donate. Scouts will be by on Saturday morning between 9 a.m. and noon to pick up the food.

The food collected will stay in the local communities to help those who can use the assistance. If your house is missed or you won’t be home, you can bring the food by the main collection center at Sequoia Heights Baptist Church, Union and Wawona in Manteca until noon.
