The wear just happened to be appropriate for Wednesday’s Halloween Senior Luncheon sponsored by Sister Ann Venita Britto and her Ministry of Caring.
All told, an estimated 300attended the function at the St. Anthony of Padua gymnasium.
Many came from Manteca senior homes, nursing facilities and assisted living places such as Merrill Gardens, Palm Haven, Prestige, Park Haven, Almond Blossom, El Rancho, Almond Terrace and Almond Court.
Others were from out of town, arriving from Stockton, Tracy, Ripon and Linden.
Included was Sister Maureen O’Brien, who, along with Sister Ann, belongs to the Daughters from the Cross.
“I was impressed with the turnout,” she said. “I also found the food to be really good.”
The luncheon event, in addition, consisted of a Halloween costume parade around the gym along with special recognition to Sandy Sepulveda, who was celebrating her 73rd birthday.
