A few years ago, Sister Veronica Hagen was a special guest at the senior luncheon hosted by Sister Ann Venita Britto and her Ministry of Caring.

In fact, the Mother Provincial of the Daughters of the Cross – Sr. Ann is also a member of the religious order – made it twice to the event held at the St. Anthony’s parish gymnasium during that same calendar year.

Sr. Ann welcomed Sr. Veronica at the free luncheon.

In attendance were also many of the regulars from the likes of Prestige, Emeritus, Almond Blossom, Valley CAPS, and St. Jude’s Care Center, to name a few.

Seniors, regardless of their religious affiliations, enjoyed homemade spaghetti with the fixings made possible by Sr. Ann and her Ministry of Caring and served by students from St. Anthony’s School.

The theme was Halloween, with some including Fr. Dante Damay coming dressed in costume.

Each guest came away with goodie bags while a few of the lucky ones walked away with one of the donated door prizes or the specially-made Halloween centerpieces that adorn the tables.

As for Sr. Veronica, she arrived a week ago from the England – Sr. Ann’s Provincial of the Daughters of the Cross also includes Ireland along with California – and had time to relax and socialize at the luncheon. She’ll make her return to England sometime next week.

In addition, Sr. Ann recognized those who were celebrating October birthdays.
