Sharp tops Almond Blossom art show

Ripon’s Shirley Sharp creations were chosen for best of show and first place honors at the annual Almond Blossom Art Show.
Entries from the Ripon artists will be on display today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  at the Clarence Schmidt Memorial Ripon Library on Main Street in downtown Ripon 
Sharp’s Best of Show was for her “395 to Mono Lake” and her first place entry was entitled “Keep Watch Over the Sea.”
Second place honors went to Donna Van Groningen Slayter for “Highway 49 #1.”  Shirley Brocchini took third place honors with “Rhoda.”
Honorable mentions went to Sharron Kuhn with “Monet’s Garden,” Ron Nelson for “Round up Time,” Sharon Jermane with “Birds in Flight,” Donna Slayter for “Marin Bay,” Anne Endres with “Shapes-Color-Light,” Gayle Kiser for “Yosemite,” Anna Barber with “Kitty Reflections,” Ann Endres for “Color Cat, “and Kendra Van Rys for “Beauty in Pain.”
.Pat Van Dorst and Deb Tornell organized the show for the festival.
