Seven shots fired near Weston Ranch High Friday afternoon shortly after the final bell at 2:47 p.m. triggered a campus lockdown.
One teacher reported students rushing into his classroom as the order for a lockdown came over the intercom at about 3 p.m. saying, “This is not a drill.” He said students who had been walking on the quad were visibly shaken.  The lockdown lasted for about 40 minutes.
Students who had heard the shots scrambled to find an open classroom for safety.
Stockton Police found a suspect vehicle in the 1600 block of Henry Long Boulevard and shell casings in the street on Erickson Circle just outside the campus perimeter.
