Sierra High Goes on Tour.
That’s the 2009 homecoming theme for the Timberwolves, who will face Ceres Friday at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.
The tour is in reference to concerts, according to activity director Amy Gross, with the classes scheduled to decorate their float based on the various music genres.
Seniors, for example, will pay tribute to the LAC country music.
The juniors will entertain Woodstock, with the Class of 2011 members turning back the clock to music of the late 1960s.
The sophomores will go techno with plenty of lights and bright colors.
For freshmen, it’s a time warp. They can dress like rockers or just wear black.
The parade is scheduled to take place at the conclusion of the sophomore game.
Homecoming, however, is about the crowning of a queen and princess at half-time of the varsity football game.
Five senior girls are up for the title, including Sandra Boling, Raven Ramzy, Lacey Vaughn, Megan Viduya, and Annie Sinclair.
The sophomore girls vying for princess are Sierra Tailes, Francis Sherry, and Lea Unterholzner.
Not to be left out of the royal court are the Sierra boys.
In this case, five seniors are seeking to become homecoming king, with the announcement being made at the Friday afternoon rally.
The candidates are Jon Bowers, Anthony Hall, Andrew Gulbronson, Udoka Uwakawe, and Zac Holmstrom.
The prince candidates are Bret Wilson, Jason Angelo and Zac DeGroot.
Several events are planned for the lunch period, including a car show on Thursday and an assortment of food booths and a deejay on Friday.
