Sister Ann Venita Britto and her Ministry of Caring received a generous donation for Wednesday’s annual Halloween luncheon.
George Perry and Sons Inc., locally owned and operated since 1925, made possible the miniature pumpkins for the special event at the St. Anthony’s parish gymnasium, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Perry and Sons is one of the largest shippers and handlers of watermelon, hard shell squash, and, of course, pumpkins.
As for entertainment, Sister Ann has once again arranged for the Jubilee Singers to perform. They’ll be joined by tap-dancing group from Lodi.
The luncheon is free of charge and open to all seniors regardless of their religious faith.
Sister Ann is expecting folks from the Commons, Prestige, Merrill Gardens, Palm Haven, Remolona and other assisted living facilities.
The meal will be prepared by Sue Pharman and Barbara Jager from the Ministry Caring.
Students from nearby St. Anthony School will help out as servers.
In addition, those attending will be eligible via drawing for the door prizes.
The luncheon event will be decorated in a Halloween theme, Sister Ann said.
For more information, call the St. Anthony’s parish office at 209-239-4302.
