1 killed, 4 injured in Stockton shooting

STOCKTON  (AP) — Stockton police say one man was killed and four others wounded when gunfire broke out outside a convenience store.

The five men were shot outside Danny's Market in Stockton shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police have not determined a motive or made any arrests.

Police spokesman Joe Silva says one man was pronounced dead when officers arrived at the scene. His name has not been released.

Another man was hospitalized in critical condition and three others suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Their names also have not been released.

The fatal shooting was Stockton's 20th homicide of 2013. That compares to 49 homicides at this time last year.
